CELEBRATING NATURE ...
ABOUT KAREN
WHERE TO
FIND MY WORK
EXHIBITING AND SHOWS

Karen is an artist and author best known for her contemporary, vibrant watercolour paintings. She has just one artistic aim in life: “to create art that dazzles with light and colour, so much so that it appears to shimmer with a life of its own”.
The popular watercolourist, whose award-winning paintings have graced the walls of venues run by much-loved institutions such as the National Trust, the RHS and the Royal Geographical Society, sees her art as a lifelong journey. She pours her infectious enthusiasm and energy for nature-inspired subjects into her work, focusing mainly on wildlife.
Karen lives in rural Devon, UK, a largely unspoilt belt of countryside, spanning coast and moors, where she finds inspiration for her portraits of wildlife all around her. Her loose, expressive style sits perfectly with her chosen medium of watercolour. Luminous, spontaneous and occasionally unpredictable, the tendency of watercolour to produce ‘happy accidents’ simply adds to its allure.
Over the years, she has sought out and trained with some of the best watercolourists in the world, such is her affection for the medium. Always experimenting and fascinated with mark-making, Karen has forged a distinctive style and taken her place in the watercolour world.
My work can be found in the following list of galleries. If a particular painting has caught your eye, please do get in touch as I can direct you to it's location. Please do check back as new galleries, nationwide, are added regularly via my agent. My working studio is located at Kigbeare Studios & Gallery, a few miles north of Okehampton, and visitors are very welcome by appointment.
