Here's to a magic 2018

Happy New Year to one and all!

I'm guessing I'm not alone in these feelings: New Years Eve comes along and the countdown approaches, and I have a slight panic while clutching at the bubbly about all the things I haven't got round to doing in the year about to end. Then, when the singing of Auld Lang Syne finishes, I start to feel like my tail is on fire, and there's not a second to lose in regard to the New Year to-to list.

2018 holds some exciting times, of that I'm sure.

Firstly, I have written a book! What started out as a project to create a catalogue of my art somehow gained momentum and became a large focus and undertaking in the last quarter of 2017. Now about to go to print, it has become something which I'm quite proud to share.

As I say in there: "Producing a book with a double purpose is a tricky business. My aim is not just to provide a catalogue of my current work, but to encourage anybody thinking of picking up a paintbrush, or currently wielding a paintbrush - perhaps with a lack of confidence - to not feel alone. Watercolour can be a dastardly medium, but with perseverance it can be, if not tamed, then at least persuaded to work with you."

I'll have some fun pre-order offers soon so watch this space.

In other news, I've been sorting out an exhibiting schedule for 2018, which I hope to post on my 'About' page in the next few days. I'm delighted to announce that my Dartmoor National Trust exhibition will be on for a whole three months this year due to the success of last year - running from April through to June. I'm also thrilled to have been approached about continuing my relationship with the Cotehele National Trust Gallery through their 2018 exhibiting schedule. I also have new gallery partnerships to announce in Spring. Talking of Spring, I can't wait to get out and about around my new Kigbeare studio home with sketchbook and camera to observe some of the local wildlife. Having joined the Kigbeare family in November, I've barely had a chance to explore my surroundings.

Well, that lot should keep me out of mischief for almost a year. Better get cracking! Stay busy and happy, friends.
